What is Imagining New Worlds?
Imagining New Worlds is a 7-week leadership development cohort by New Voices for Reproductive Justice that runs annually from summer through early fall. This immersive experience is rooted in Reproductive Justice (RJ) and explores its intersections with urban policy. Participants gain the language, tools, and training necessary to confront structural barriers rooted in anti-Blackness and misogynoir. From understanding systems of oppression to developing strong public testimony and statehouse advocacy skills, Imagining New Worlds prepares participants to build political power in their communities and lead with purpose.
What Will I Learn?
Each week of Imagining New Worlds builds your knowledge and advocacy toolkit—layering key concepts of Reproductive Justice with real-world political education. You’ll learn how systems of oppression operate, how policy shapes our lives, and how to use your voice to shift power through the following:
Week 1 – Reproductive Justice & Systems of Oppression
Week 2 – Understanding Policy: Demystifying the process & addressing misinformation
Week 3 – Policy & Daily Life: Analyzing how policies impact RJ communities
Week 4 – Narrative Strategy: Shifting culture through storytelling
Week 5 – Public Testimony & Advocacy: Building confidence and skill
Week 6 – Statehouse Advocacy 101: Putting it all into action
Week 7 – Ohio Advocacy Day: TENTATIVE October 15, 2025
Week 8 – Pennsylvania Advocacy Day: TENTATIVE October 22, 2025
